MegaMatcher Embedded technology is intended for the mobile AFIS and multi-biometric systems developers. The technology ensures high quality of biometric recognition suitable for using in large-scale AFIS or multi-biometric systems.

MegaMatcher Embedded is available as a software development kit that allows development of stand-alone or Web-based multi-biometric solutions for smartphones, tablets and other devices that are running Android OS.

Technology and SDK

• MegaMatcher Embedded technology features and capabilities. Fingerprint and facial recognition engines are included together with the fused face-fingerprint algorithm for reliable identification. The fingerprint engine is NIST MINEX compliant and is capable of matching rolled and flat fingerprints between themselves. The face engine includes reliable face detection and processes multiple faces simultaneously.
• MegaMatcher Embedded SDK contents. The SDK is intended for biometric systems developers and integrators and allows rapid development of multi-biometric applications for devices that are running Android OS. Java programming samples and tutorials included.
• Supported fingerprint scanners. Several fingerprint readers are supported by MegaMatchre Embedded SDK under Android OS.
• Recommendations and constraints for face recognition. MegaMatcher Embedded facial recognition engine has certain requirements to the images, produced by cameras, lightning conditions, face posture and expression.
• System requirements. A Smartphone or tablet or other device that is running Android 2.2 (API 8) OS or newer. 1 GHz processor recommended for fingerprint or face processing in less than 1 second.
• Technical specifications. The MegaMatcher Embedded fingerprint and face engines are able to process fingerprint and face images in less than 1 second. A multi-biometric template requires as little as 700 bytes for each fingerprint record, and as little as 4 kilobytes for each face record.
• Reliability testing results. MegaMatcher provides high identification reliability using fused single- or multi-biometric identification.
• MINEX compliance. MegaMatcher Embedded SDK fingerprint engine is a port of MegaMatcher 4.2 SDK fingerprint engine to Android platform. In 2007 MegaMatcher fingerprint technology was recognized by NIST as fully MINEX compliant. The recognition allowed to use MegaMatcher in personal identity verification program (PIV) applications.
