Biometrics FC Required Sophisticated Multi-biometric Capabilities for a Client's National-level Civil and Police Applications
Biometrics FC first began working with Neurotechnologija's algorithms
two years ago, when they chose VeriFinger SDK after evaluating ten of
the top biometric fingerprint SDKs on the market. After completing a
number of successful projects using the VeriFinger engine to power
their FC AFIS product for small and mid-range automated fingerprint
identification systems, Biometrics FC was chosen to develop and
implement a national-level, large scale multi-biometric face and
fingerprint identification system for use in both civil and police
applications.
Realizing that their current product did not
offer all of the advanced features required for such a large and
complex system, Biometrics FC once again turned to Neurotechnologija,
this time choosing MegaMatcher multi-biometric face and fingerprint
technology as the identification engine for their new FC LSBS product.
MegaMatcher 2.0 Provided a Perfect Match for the FC LSBS Solution
Biometrics FC's client required a system that could be implemented
nationwide to help immigration and police officials identify and
capture people entering the country illegally. They also wanted a
system that could be applied to other forms of criminal investigation,
including identification of latent fingerprints from crime scenes.
After a careful evaluation of their client's
needs, Biometrics FC found MegaMatcher 2.0 to be a perfect match for
their FC LSBS solution, for a number of reasons:

FC LSBS and MegaMatcher Help Secure National Borders
The FC LSBS system is now installed in more than 20 frontier localities
across their client's country (with more to come) and the remote
stations are joined by a global LAN. According to the country's law,
immigrants are required to submit their fingerprints upon entering the
country. Using MegaMatcher's high speed matching algorithm, FC LSBS
enables police and immigration officials to quickly and accurately
identify unauthorized immigrants as they attempt to pass the country's
borders. The FC LSBS system is also being rolled-out across the
country's police forces for both criminal identification and forensic
use at crime scene investigations.
The success of the FC LSBS system in current
applications is leading to more and more implementations for both civil
