How Digital Persona U.are.U 4000 Works
The Digital Persona U.are.U 4000 is a USB finger scanner designed to work with PCs. The user places their finger onto the brightly lit glowing reader window and the reader will automatically scan the fingerprint. Using a fingerprint recognition algorithm software such as VeriFinger (by Neurotechnologija), the scanned finger is matched against a previously enrolled fingerprint template in the system. This allows for the elimination of passwords or can act as a second strong authentication in addition to a password depending on the desired usage.
